By following The Brush Ponte, you’ll gain a personal glimpse into the life of an artist and be part of a community of art lovers and like-minded individuals.
Spring is a season that is associated with renewal and rebirth, and the colors that come to mind are often pastel shades such as pink, lavender, mint green, baby blue, and lemon yellow. These soft colors evoke a feeling of freshness and lightness that is perfect for the season. One of the most popular colors for spring is pink. Whether it’s a pale blush or a brighter fuchsia, pink is a color that is associated with femininity, romance, and tenderness. It’s a versatile color that can be paired with other pastels, neutrals, or even…
Write the vision, make it plain. I am such a believer in vision boards. The LORD answered me: “Write down the vision; write it clearly on clay tablets so whoever reads it can run to tell others. It is not yet time for the message to come true, but that time is coming soon; the message will come true. It may seem like a long time, but be patient and wait for it, because it will surely come; it will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:2-3 Some people call it a vision board or dream…
My very 1st art show! Was it a failure? This month I had my very 1st art show. Oh I was so excited about this opportunity. I did my research. I tried to find all the information I could about past art shows at this event. I found old pictures to get an idea for setup. I was told that I would only get one table so I had to maximize the space. I arrived early, I wanted to get a prime spot in a corner. I was the 1st one there. After I…
Hello my creative friends! That is a greeting from one of my favorite fluid artists that I follow on YouTube. Her name is Olga Sobey and she’s amazing. Check out her YouTube channel. I have been drawing all my life. I’ve been painting for the last 3 years and yet here I am still questioning whether or not I am a creative. A sorority sister comment about how creative I was. I denied it. I said ‘No I’m not very creative’ is what I actually said and she outright called me a liar! 😂…
Hey guys!I know we haven’t even celebrated Christmas and I’m sending you information for January’s free painting sessions. I just wanted to give you the heads up that Januarys sessions are open for sign ups. There will only be 3 sessions for January. Its time to start training for the spring runs and I have a training session to attend. You will notice that a couple of the paintings we have not tried in the past. Finger painting and figure painting, but we have discussed trying both in our previous sessions. Even the waterfall…
December 1st is World Aids Day. A local group of university students scheduled a paint party for national aids day. They wanted a compilation of paintings representing living with aids, the sigma of aids and aids prevention. With any custom painting my question is always what does that look like to you? I was given some possible images of families, group hugs, hand shaking and for prevention the classic cliché a condom. I am always up for a challenge but to make sure I was on the right track I talked to my artist…
As you know it’s Breast Cancer awareness month. This Is a campaign that I am passionate about. My grandmother who raised me, who was essentially my mother, lost her battle with breast cancer in October of 2003. She had a masectomy about 13 years before she passed. In early 2003 it came back as metastatic breast cancer. By the time doctors figured out what it was, it had consumed her body. After her masectomy, it was important to her to participate in different research programs. This was her way of making a difference for…

When I 1st started my journey as a fluid artist. I watched all of my favorite fluid artists over and over again. Trying every time to mimic their results. As I continued to try to mimic their results, I eventually kinda developed my own style. This mermaid painting is a combination of what I would say was a failure transformed into to a success. hence the title of this blog post. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove…
